This is a delicious and easy dishes which almost everyone can cook at their home. Soft and smooth tofu was used on this recipe, added some dried or fresh shrimps and some fresh homegrown spring onion as garnish.
1 box/block soft tofu
small handful of dried shrimps
1 tsp oyster sauce
1/2 tsp light soy sauce
sugar & salt
a pinch of pepper
some starch water (1 tsp tapioca starch + 2 tbsp water, mix well)
chopped spring onion as garnished
- wash then soak dried shrimps with 1/2 cup of water for 5 minutes, drained & keep the soaked water for later use
- heat some oil on a pan, add dried shrimps to sautee until fragrant
- add oyster sauce, light soy sauce, pepper, sugar & salt to taste, then add "soaked water", stir well
- add in soft tofu, do not stir
- cover with lid, let it simmer for 3 minutes
- slowly add starch water bit by bit to make the thick gravy that you want
- off the heat & serve with rice!
