sweet and sour pork chop rice 排骨王饭


This is one of my favorites meals... Sweet and Sour Pork Chop 排骨王饭. This dish is cook by my husband and this is one of his famous dish.



Ingredients: (serve 2 pax)

4 pcs pork chops

for marinade:
1/2 tsp five spice
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tbsp cornflour
1 tbsp oyster sauce

for gravy:
1 tbsp light soy sauce
2/3 cup ketchup
4 tbsp water
1 tbsp white vinegar
3 tbsp sugar


  1. cleans pork chops and soak into salted water (mix 2 tsp salt with water) for 15 minutes.
  2. drain pork chops, lightly pound both sides pork chop with back of the knife or mallet. Marinade with five spice, salt, sugar, sesame oil, cornflour and oyster sauce for at least 15 minutes.
  3. heat pan with 3 tbsp of oil to fry the marinaded pork chop until golden brown.
  4. spoon out the excess frying oil, leave 1 tbsp oil for cooking the gravy.
  5. combine ketchup, water, vinegar, sugar and light soy sauce then add into heated pan.
  6. add fried pork chop into pan when gravy become thick. Coat pork chops with the gravy.
  7. serve immediate with rice!
