mustard green pickles with fried fish 酸菜鱼

Use my homemade mustard greens pickles to cook this dish. My grandma and my mom used to cook this dish for us when we were young. I called up my mom to ask for her recipe because I really have a long time didn't have this dish on my table. I also wanted to test my mustard green pickles.

Ingredients:
2 selar fish (yellow tail )
1-2 leaves mustard green pickles, sliced
2-3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp fermented soy bean
1 tsp light soy sauce
1-2 tsp sugar
Some water
1/2 tsp tapioca flour
  1. Rub some salt to the fish
  2. Heat wok with oil in high heat, fry fish until both sides become brown and crispy, dish out on a plate
  3. Remain 1 tbsp oil and saute the garlic
  4. Add in fermented soy bean, keep sauté until fragrant
  5. Add in sliced mustard greens pickles & sugar, keep stir fry for 2 minutes
  6. Add some water to let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes
  7. Lastly, add tapioca flour into some water for the gravy. Add slowly until it reach the gravy thickness
  8. Add in the fried fish to cook for another minute to let the fish absorb the gravy or pour all the gravy to the fish
  9. Serve with rice
