braised chicken with black fungus 黑木耳焖鸡





Black fungus also call cloud ear has a reputation in Chinese herbal medicine for increasing the fluidity of the blood and improving circulation. So most of the chinese people knew about it and like to cook it for new mommy on confinement month. It texture is crunchy and easy to prepare.


 ingredients: (serve 2 pax)

1 whole chicken leg, cut to pieces
2 dry black fungus, soaked with water, cut to pieces
1 inch ginger, sliced
3 cloves garlic, smashed
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
1/1 tsp dark soy sauce
1 tsp sugar
1/2 cup hot water


  1. heat cooking pan with some oil, add smashed garlic & ginger slices to sauté until fragrant
  2. add chicken, stir fry until half cook
  3. add seasoning like oyster sauce, soy sauce, dark soy sauce & sugar
  4. keep sautéing, add 1/2 cup hot water, cover with lid
  5. let it simmer about 10 minutes, or until the gravy become lesser & the chicken is cooked
  6. serve with warm rice!
