Jane's version - spiced cabbage 香料卷心菜


Simple stir-fried cabbage, delicious too especially paired with Spiced Fried Chicken.


A simple side dish when you have Spiced Fried Chicken (ayam goreng berempah). Very easy to cook, I like to use the oil left from spiced fried chicken, makes this dish more fragrant! Without this oil, you will not able to cook it as fragrant as mine.

Recipe for Spiced Fried Chicken (ayam goreng berempah).

ingredients: (serve 2 - 3 pax)
4-5 pcs of cabbage (cut slices)
some carrot (shredded)
3 cloves garlic (minced)
3 stacks of curry leaves
1 tbsp oil from Spiced Fried Chicken
2 tbsp water
salt to taste



  1. heat oil on medium heat, add garlic & curry leaves, sautee until fragrant.
  2. add cabbage, add salt to taste.
  3. pour water, cover pan with lid for 2-3 minutes. (to soften the cabbage)
  4. add shredded carrot, stir fry to combine.
  5. serve as side dish for Spiced Fried Chicken.
