easy pancake 薄煎饼

I am not a pancake person especially in Malaysia, a local chinese like me will not think about pancakes for their breakfast.

But when comes to preparing for breakfast, I really have no idea what to cook for my family already. So just browse the web for breakfast idea and I found most popular recipe is pancake. So I give it a try, read through the recipe and is very easy to prepare and cook.

Original recipe is from All Recipe. Out of many pancakes recipe in the list, I choose this particular recipe is because of the beautiful pancake photo shown on the website. Golden brown pancake, looks very delicious, why not just give it a try.

My husband and son also like it, not too thick but thin and a bit sweet. Yummy when you serve it with a butter and sweet syrup or honey.

Ingredients: (make 8 pancakes)

1 cup all purpose flour

2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup milk
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla essence
2 tbsp cooking oil

  1. combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar and salt in a bowl.
  2. make a well at the center, add milk, egg and cooking oil. Whisk and mixed well.
  3. at medium low heat, heat non-stick pan with some oil, scoop batter with 1/4 cup and pour slowly at the center of the pan to make a round pancake.
  4. when bubbles show and almost dry then turn pancake to make both side to golden brown.
  5. serve with butter, honey, syrup or fruit jam.
