We always think of a loaf bread compare to pita bread in our family. I got found a recipe on the internet which can make pita on a stove instead of using oven. So I just try and see how it taste and work.
In fact making pita bread on a stove was easy and fast compare making a normal loaf. Having a lot of fun on watching how it buff and my son was also enjoyed it! I manage to record a video of how my pita bread buff!
3 cups all purpose flour
1 -1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
2 tsp instant yeast
1-1/4 to 1-1/2 cup water
2 tbsp oil
- combine all ingredients to form a dough, knead until smooth.
- cover, rest & proof 60 mins or double.
- divide into 8 balls, rest 5 mins.
- dust flour on work surface, flatten all balls, rest 10-15 mins.
- heat a non stick pan without oil in low heat.
- grill pita on 1 side until bubbles appear then flip to another side, grill for 10 second.
- flip back again and pita will puff as high as video showed.

2茶匙即食酵母粉
1-1/4 – 1-1/2杯水
2汤匙油
1. 将所有食材,形成面团,揉至光滑。
2. 盖上,发酵面团60分钟或两倍。
3. 分为8个球,休息5分钟。
4. 洒面粉在工作台上,压平所有的球,中间发酵10-15分钟。
5. 低热,烧热不沾锅。
6. 在一边烤口袋面包,直到出现气泡,然后翻转到另一面,烤10秒。
7. 像录像显示,来回翻转直到膨胀起来就可以了。
